Zenyth Heavy Minerals Laboratory

Zenyth has chosen to locate its bespoke heavy mineral laboratory at the Baken Mine Site on LOR due to the advantages of the operating on an established mine site and in the heart of a rapidly growing district for heavy mineral and REE development.

Baken is a well-established mining village that has the benefit of services such as roads, power & water, skilled mineworkers and artisans are housed in the dedicated mine village houses and self-catering single quarters accommodation. Staff and local contractors are also drawn from local communities within 40km of the site. The mine has well equipped primary and emergency healthcare, workshops, administration and security and operates with full environmental permitting and social licence to operate, which includes a successful Community Artisanal Mining (CAM) arrangement. Importantly, the site is serviced by its own airstrip which provides convenient & efficient air access.

The Baken Mine laboratory is ideally suited to service the Namaqualand West Coast, including Northern Cape, South Africa and Southern Namibia, Namibia is conveniently reached by two international borders with Namibia each within 40km by road from the Laboratory (one of which is located on the LOR Mining Right).

The Zenyth Baken Laboratory hosts both benchtop and bulk sample test facilities owned by Zenyth. The facility is managed under contract by well-known South African mineral extraction laboratory experts MAK Analytical Services, who also provide additional offsite services such as ICP assays:
