Quantum Earth and its Subsidiaries are operated under strategic and technical guidance by well-known South African resource entrepreneur Errol Smart (PrSciNat). Errol is supported by a network of highly skilled and experienced professionals. Geological evaluation and resource estimation services our sub contracted to GeoActiv while laboratory and bulk sampling analysis is sub contracted under management of MAK Analytical.

Errol is a Registered Professional Natural Scientist and has more than 35 years of international broad industry experience in all aspects of exploration, mine development and mine operations. He has a wealth of public and private corporate experience, having served as CEO and Managing Director of several listed and unlisted companies over the past 30 years. Most recently Errol was CEO & MD of ASX & JSE listed and South Africa focussed Orion Minerals Ltd for 13 years until March 2025.

  • Small and medium scale mine planning, conceptual design, optimisation plans and feasibility studies.
  • Design and setup of geological exploration programs.
  • General geological consulting and advisory, supervision QA and QC work.
  • Metal accounting investigations.
  • Supervision of metallurgical extraction test-work, conceptual process design and optimization.

Advising small scale and early stage mineral project owners on opportunities for financing and development, preparation of appropriate business plans, presentation material and assisting with technical and business presentations and financing roadshows. Project finance negotiations with Offtakers, Banks and Royalty and `Streaming financiers.

Errol is a member of the board member of Minerals Council of South Africa (2018-2026) and served as Chair of the Junior Mining and Exploration Leadership Forum. He is currently Vice Chair of the South African Diamond Producers Association
